Cole-Levi Klimt Gallery is delighted to unveil “Extensions of the Soul,” curated by the esteemed multidisciplinary artist Pia MYrvoLD. The exhibition opens with a private viewing on 22nd August 2024 at Copeland Gallery, Peckham, London. This unique show embarks on an exploration of the intricate dynamics between personal and collective narratives within the framework of contemporary life.

Entropy, catastrophe, vortex—dissolving matter in swirling mists of foreboding, chaos, and decay—the exhibition ‘Extensions of the Soul’ unveils personal gardens of hope, healing, and dreams. It delicately balances the equilibrium of our interior and exterior traumas, presenting them through the lens of contemporary living.

Within these realms, psychological acuity reigns supreme, peeling back layers of reality to reveal the intricate tapestry of the mind. It is a profound journey into the depths of sociology and psychology, where each twist and turn unveils new insights into the human condition.

Curator:

Pia MYrvoLD, whose career spans decades, she is celebrated as a pioneering, innovative multidisciplinary artist renowned for her integration of art, music, technology, and fashion. Recognised for her unique vision, MYrvoLD has curated her own exhibitions at major institutions and museums globally. Her role as a speaker for the New York Times’ Art for Tomorrow conference highlights her influence on the fusion of art and technology.

With notable exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, participation in the Venice Biennale, and impactful installations such as the one in the Shenzhen Art Museum, which attracted over 220,000 visitors. “Extensions of the Soul” presents a carefully curated selection of artworks that delve into themes of chaos, hope, and the human psyche.

The exhibition is a testament to the resilience of creation, offering insights into the balancing act between our inner lives and external influences. Cole-Levi Klimt Gallery, a new addition to London’s art scene with a mission to support emerging and established artists in enhancing their cultural significance, providing a platform for innovative exhibitions that foster meaningful dialogues within the contemporary art world.

Copeland Gallery:

The site has been part of industrial London ever since a Victorian entrepreneur and visionary gave his name to the Peckham landmark over 100 years ago.

Once reflecting Peckham’s industrial heritage, this collection of historic buildings houses a vast and diverse range of commercial and creative enterprises. Buildings on site include the iconic Bussey Building, single-storey warehouses, modern gallery spaces and two Victorian terrace houses.
